Portable Bluetooth speakers are always a good option for a special someone (or for yourself) when the early Black Friday tech deals start to pop up. One model worth paying attention to in the sale is the JBL Clip 5, which has an all-time low price of $50. That’s $30 off its usual price.

They’re typically durable devices that put out a good enough volume for the beach or a cookout, for example (but maybe don’t use it on public transportation if you don’t want to risk the annoyance of your fellow travelers).
As the name suggests, the JBL Clip 5 has a built-in carabiner, making it easy to attach it to a backpack or belt loop, to name a few options. JBL said it redesigned the carabiner this time around to widen the opening. That way, it’ll be easier to attach the speaker to a lot of things.
Although the speaker measures just 1.75 inches, it is said to deliver solid audio with punchy bass and a maximum output of seven watts. The JBL Clip 5 should be durable too, as it has an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating.
The speaker is claimed to last up to 12 hours on a single charge, but there is a Playtime Boost option that adds three additional hours to the listening time. Additionally, you can pair two Clip 5s for stereo audio or connect the speaker to another of JBL’s Oracast-enabled models to enhance the sound.
While the use of generative AI in games seems almost inevitable, as this medium has always toyed with new ways to make enemies and NPCs smarter and more realistic, watching several NVIDIA ACE demos one after another really gave me stomach pain.
It wasn’t just slightly smarter enemy AI – ACE can create entire conversations out of thin air, simulate voices and try to give NPCs a sense of personality. It’s also working locally on your PC, powered by NVIDIA’s RTX GPU. But while this might all sound good on paper, I hated nearly every second I saw the AI NPCs in action.
